I have a project on hudaism and I need to know how and when Judaism began. What did Abraham do to make it happen?. I tried to look for it in wikipedia but I couldn't find it. If you can, would you please give me a link to wikipedia on how Judaism started?

God was looking for a group of people to be his chosen people. He went to several other groups, but each of them declined for they did not wish to follow certain rules and customs. When God went to the hebrews (sorry, I dont know what they were then called), they gladly accepted. I learned this in 1st or 2nd grade at a hebrew day school I used to attend, but that is all I can remember. Hope it helps.

Don't use wikipedia for any research project. It isn't written by experts, and sometimes the information there isn't reliable.
