I feel cheated that Ralph just copied and pasted by answer and posted it as his own...I suppose that's what I get for winning best answer the last time someone asked this question. But at least he linked the original question under source.

BUT I shall try to outdo myself. I have read many books since then. I definitely recommend reading PEEPS by Scott Westerfeld. It is a great vampire book. Not as much romance as TWILIGHT but it is a secondary plot device. The vampires are very exciting. I also loved BLUE BLOODS by Melissa de la Cruz. It is the first in new vampire series. Set in New York City, a group of teenagers (boys and girls) discover their true legacy. Very exciting. Some romance.

I also recommend reading A GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY although it is vampire free. Many Twilight fans have turned to it and loved it. It is a series as well.

And last but not least...there are two websites which list books of this nature....

Sarah Dessen novels typically have a strong romantic relationship. Just Listen is her newest novel. My personal favorite is The Truth About Forever. But I've read most of her novels and enjoyed them as well. (Others include: Keeping the Moon, Someone like You, That Summer, This Lullaby). Dessen also has, in my opinion, the "can't-put-down" feeling of Twilight. Although the styles are not necessarily similar.

The Uglies trilogy by Scott Westerfeld is good but in a different way from Twilight. Again, it has the "can't-put-down" factor going for it. It is full of adventure. The romance isn't center-stage though. Tally is a 16 year old girl of the future. It's set several centuries from now in a society where plastic surgery is not only 'popular' but 'required' and regulated as well. The pretty committee decides what everyone looks like and everyone undergoes massive surgery on their 16th birthday. But there is a price to pay. The focus is a bit on society...a bit on friendship...and a bit on romance. I enjoyed the three novels a lot. (I bought them all; and each one I read in one sitting because I couldn't put them down.)

There are many vampire novels--both teen and adult--but my expertise is not in that field. The only other vampire novel I've read is Charlaine Harris' Dead Until Dark. It is an adult novel. But in my opinion it doesn't even begin to measure up to the greatness that is Twilight. Yes, there is a love story between a woman and a vampire...yes there is danger...but it's not the same. An internet search would bring up lists of these kinds of novels...Amazon has many listmania lists for vampires...and there is even a Wikipedia article on vampire fiction.

Have you listened to Twilight on cd??? I thought the audio book was great!
