Amen
And good for them. Weasels creep into Government the world over.
It is a constant fight to keep the vermin out.

Here's the good part...
It's not that democracies such as the US and Israel don't have corruption. But- they are still balanced in power sufficiently to investigate and prosecute corruption. So- when we read news reports that country leaders are being investigated... that's a good thing. It means it's possible.
Many countries, the people in power are so powerful- that they cannot be investigated or prosecuted.
So- in what countries do we NOT hear of leaders being investigated... perhaps those are the ones which you should worry about.
....Ever hear of the Saudi Royal family being investigated?

Yes I dont think the checks and balances have been used often enoth in at least the last 12 years. Some major corruption has been going on and having more investigations is not very much more costy and helps keep the con artists in check a lil bit.

Whenever you see a public movement, as in Israel, that truly holds leaders to account for the violation of people’s liberties or the breaching of laws, two characteristics seem to be quite pervasive in the population. One characteristic is that they are highly educated with respect to how things are run in the country, and with global issues. Number two, they are avidly interested in government affairs.
Unfortunately the American people, as a whole, are highly ignorant of both domestic and international political affairs, and to compound problems, they are apathetic to them. Just look at the percentage of eligible voters that actually do vote in the country and you can glean just how little people care about the political scene. In no other industrialized country is there such a concerted effort to promote the virtues of voting as there is in this country. Do you know why there is no effort? Simple, because the people, in those other countries, naturally believe it is their duty and privilege to vote.
Until the population is better educated with respect to the government and is various dealings, and actually is concerned with what the government does and participates in it, politicians will be able to do break any rule with virtual impunity.

Yes, there is an investigation already under way against William Jefferson for bribery and hopefully Harry Reids shady land dealings will result in charges, and not to mention Nancy Pelosie's "protecting" of her own business interest in the "tuna workers deal"

Rembember the GOP cleaned house with Browny, Foley, and that dude from texas remember, and Abramhoff, the November elections did the rest except for the current administration in the White House, and big corporations, and government contractors such as Black Water, Halibuton, and KBR, and don't forget the energy mongers, war mongers, and oil barrons.

Absolutely. Let's start with Hillary and her multi-million dollar book deal. Then lets focus on Pelosi's most recent ploy where she exempted her own district from the minimum wage hike in order not to hurt Starkist Tuna. It's about time you libs decided to investigate your party's constant unethical behavior. I'm on board.

The Dems are already starting fundraisers and they just got power. Investigations here would leave us with NO leaders of either party.

Reid, Pelosi, & Obama all come to mind.
But I think you'll find they are all above the law.
(And it was an accident that they made millions. They didn't mean to.)
