I know some girls use them to find out when they ovulate so they can get pregnant, but can you use it to see when you are and then avoid sex on those days? Will that work?

Probably since if you know you are ovulating and you chose not to have sex then you won't get pregnant. I don't think this should replace any methods you are already using to prevent pregnancy.

It should NOT be relied upon for this purpose. All it does is measure FSH levels and by the time the ovum has been released (when the FSH levels are highest) it might be too late.

Sperm can live in the uterine cavity for up to 72 hours, whereas the fertility monitor usually gives a 24-48 hour window. That's not a risk I would be willing to take!

Nope, the rhythm method of contraception has the highest rate of failure. You can get pregnant at any time of the month, but it is more likely when you are ovulating.

No, only abstinence prevents pregnancy for sure.
