Am I weird?

Question

Ok well I was in the car with my mom driving down town or something(I am 22 and was on the passenger side), anyway a car pulled up next to us holding four guys. The driver was dancing to his music and being all cute(seriously he was!). So I kept laughing at him and saying he's cute!

My mom got mad and said "quit acting like a two year old and you're weird, they are not cute act your age, oh no they're going in the same store as we are I suppose you're going after them."

First of all I'm not a skank, and second of all I never go after guys and pursue them!

So was I acting like I'm two? Am I weird thinking that guy was cute and laughing at him?

No, you're not weird! You were flirting and there's nothing wrong with that. Your mom's wrong about you acting like you're two. Two-year-olds don't flirt with guys. I do think you were acting like you're 16, but I acted the same way at 22 so I'm not one to criticize :)

I don't mean to be offensive, but I think your mom has some serious control issues. It sounds like she wants to keep you as a child. I can completely relate...I was 22 when I got out from under my mother's shadow. She used to say similar things to me. It's hard to act "mature" when a trusted parent won't let you. But rest assured, you were NOT acting "weird". Sticking your butt up against the window or publicly making out with the car window would have been weird.

In the proper company (with your friends, NOT with your mom) you would be fine. In Mom's company, yes, you were being weird and acting like you were two!

you told the guy your cute? your mom is maybe a little old fashioned, she wants you to be respectable, she doesnt wanna see her daughter drooling over some dude on the street, i would not be making comments like that to your mom
