I am not sure what it is exactly. The judges and Ryan are more laid back and less serious. Simon seems not as rude but Randy and Paula seem more rude. Paula seems kinda out of it too. Your comments?

Yeah, I noticed that. It could be that the talent level of the folks trying out is much, much lower than it's been in the past. They're having a lot of trouble finding good singers this time around, imo. When they had Jewel on that first show, I thought that maybe they were planning on replacing Paula with Jewel. I don't know what Paula's problem is but she needs some serious help. And yeah, I wondered what was up with locking that one door......I guess they were having fun watching the contestants trying to get out.

Since last year I have thought Paula was either drinking or using drugs.

Simon seems more pleasant, Randy's just po'd he gained his weight back, plumped up quite nicely, and Paula seems tired.
