hmm... im not sure.the older brick one probobably wont cause HDTV's weren't too big then, but the slimmer one might

Sort of. You can play PS2 on an HDTV, but to qualify as HD, it needs to be a 720 resolution. PS2 is only capable of 420p. You can still play PS2 on a lot of HDTV's, but it won't be HD, it'll just be stretched and probably won't look too good.
