whatever is more comfortable to you. picks give a cleaner sharper sound, fingers give a deeper muted tone. your choice.
with my bass, I prefer playing with a pick.

In general playing an electric sounds better with a pick (though everything is a matter of opinion). Different songs call for different styles of playing so you will probably be using both. It's important to remember that it never sounds better to play a song with your fingers that was written using a pick, like songs where you strum chords (most songs).
Some songs require the use of your fingers but often times those songs were recorded on an acoustic (not always). These can be played on an electric just fine, but they may lack some of the nice sound you get from an acoustic.

If you don't want to hurt your fingers/get blisters. A pick is better especially for electric guitars. The sound the pick makes is a lot more distinct than using a bare finger. Try the picks that you can strap on your finger.

Depends. Picking will be a lot easier to learn in the beginning since it doesn't require as much dexterity as using your fingers does. But, it wouldn't hurt to learn how to finger pick once you get the basics of pickings down. Just be prepared to spend more time practicing it.

I play with both. Depending on the sound I want. If you are just learning, though, I would suggest using a pick. When you are learning it's better to keep things asa simple as possible.
Take it slow and learn something new every day and soon you'll be rockin'.

This completely depends on your approach to the instrument, musical style, etc. In other words, a very personal decision. Derek Trucks is one of the best guitarists alive...no pick. Of course, there's a long list of those who DO use them!Experiment with both and find your preference and your own voice.

Using a pick gives you a better tone than if you were to use your fingers. It is better if you get used to using a pick instead of your fingers.

It's a matter of personal preference and depends on what style of music you are playing and what sound you want .
