Generally speaking the areas that are most painful are the bonier areas like scalp, ankle or fingers. Well muscled areas can also hurt as you tend to tense when the needle hits. The least painful areas are the fleshy ones like the buttocks.
Getting your thigh done wont be too bad, just remember to relax as much as possible.

Everyone says areas on the bone hurt most. When I got tattooed (it's on my back), it hurt less on my spine, and hurt more the farther out toward the sides it went. I know the underside of your arms is supposed to be one of the most painful areas, and judging by that, I would guess that the inside of your thigh would also be extremely painful. I would guess if you were getting it on your hip or the outside of your thigh that probably wouldn't be too bad.

I guess it depends on the areas you are comparing it to. I only have one tattoo, its on my right ankle. I was going to chicken out and put it on my lower back as I heard the ankle was a tough spot. It was really not bad at all! Didn't feel anything like I thought it would. Good luck! Hope you like whatever you get, it will be with you a while. =)

i would think less painful...what are you havn't put on to ruin that lovely leg that when your 50 you'll be freaking out you did this to your beautiful gam?
