I have talked to a couple of men who openly admitted to liking shemales.I asked them why but they didn't say any thing I wanted to hear

All men like penises, especially their own. But it's not socially acceptable to like the other men that the other penises are inevitably attached to - and one's self-image would suffer accordingly if such a penis were to be more than fantasized about.
However, if a penis happened to be attached to a woman, it would seem to be an acceptable object to play around with, and the thought of doing so should not be all that adverse to one's self-image.
However, I'm told that when one actually does play with such a penis, it becomes quite clear that the "woman" involved is more of an illusion than an actuality. Thus the experience becomes one that cannot be discussed without some fuzziness in one's self image being the result.
So perhaps what you wanted to hear was the very thing they didn't want to have to say to you.

Shemales think like women, act like women, move like women but have a penis. Perhaps the so called straight guy is slightly bisexual and being with a shemales makes him feel less gay.

It allows them to enjoy stuff related to a penis without having to do with a man otherwise. Also usually an attempt to get around homosexuality, however, some people will consider them gay for it anyway. While some shemales are much closer to being women, others only have breasts (usually implants) and a female face, while otherwise having the body of a man.

Because most men feel that if they are with a shemale,or transsexual,they are not exactly "gay" because that person is technically half woman.
