Please do not buy a bunny from the pet store. Most come from mills or irresponsible breeders. They sell them much too young. A rabbit should not be taken away from its mother before it is at least 6 weeks old, preferably 8 weeks. When they are taken away at a younger age, they do not get the proper nutrients and immunities from their mothers and are more prone to disease later in life.
Most in pet stores are not given a proper diet or proper space.
Please do your research before adopting a rabbit, and please, look in a shelter or a rescue. You can get a great price on a rabbit that is already spayed/neutered, an essential procedure for the health of the rabbit. If you want a specific breed, go to a rabbit show and find a breeder there.
Don't encourage the irresponsible behavior of pet stores!

LOVE your avatar!!! :)
You CAN buy one from a pet store, but unless it's a great pet store, it's probably not going to be very socialized. I'd suggest going to a shelter. I assume you're in the Seattle area (the avatar gives it away) and I know there's lots of bunnies in rescue around here. Go to www.petfinder.com and look for bunnies. You can type in your zip code to find ones in your area. They're usually around $30 or so and they've usually been fixed...which is a HUGE plus. They make WAY better pets when they're fixed.
For tons of general bunny info... go to www.rabbit.org

It would be better to adopt from a shelter or from www.rabbit.com. Rabbits in pet stores usually have been taken from their parents far too soon, may be sick, and have not been treated good. A lot of major pet stores get rabbits from "rabbit mills" (like puppy mills) where they mass produce rabbits while mistreating them. If you adopt from someplace else, there is a greater chance you will find a happy, healthy bunny who is lots of fun.

Yes, it's ok but I DO NOT reccomend it! You're getting ripped off on the price 95% of the time and a lot of them do not know what breed of rabbit they're selling. I've been a rabbit breeder for 4 and a half years and I've been to many pet stores laughing at them because their rabbits are $30.00 overpriced and it's the wrong breed from what they say on the tag. I sell rabbits from my mother's business for $5.00-$10.00 at the most. Now, this is not true for all petstores but most of them are incorrect with their information, just to warn you.

it is ok to get a rabbit from a pet shop if ur not interested in getting a pure breed rabbit because sometimes they are not pure breed but u should make sure that the rabbits are healthy and not too dirty and make sure they have no crusting around the eyes for that is a sing it might be sick and u should ask if it is boy or girl and make them check it just in case and make sure the other rabbits around it are healthy so it doesnt get sick eventually as a rabbit breeder i know that it is better to get rabbits from breeders but it is easier to get them from pet shops.

it is greaat that your asking before you buy. first, make sure that the pet store is quality, it helps if you know someone who got their rabbit there. ask questions, and look at how staff members handle the rabbits. if they pass all of these tests, then you will have a great pet.

Yes but you should do research on the store first to make sure that they have a good history. It would also be good to get one from the humane society too.

You can, but a better idea would be to adopt one. If your local animal shelter doesn't have any, try a breeder. They will very likely have some that don't make it up to show standards but have nice personalities.
