well live fish poop and u have to clean it anyways....,but some things can be done to minimise frequent cleaning of ur tank.......
1)put Only a few pairs of fish in ur tank. Avoid overstocking.
2)Size does matter, the greater the fish, the greater the waste produced and henceforth u need to clean the tank more frequently. so keep small fishes....... u can decorate the tank heavily and put small fishes like guppies and tetras
3) Make sure that you don't overfeed ur fishes...overfeeding will invariably lead to cloudy water...feed only 1-2 times a day as it is enough for most fishes
4) Put algae eaters......... fishes like Pleco(suckermouth) actually feed on leftovers scattered in ur gravels and help in cl;eaning it
5)Put a very good filteration system
if u keep these basics in mind, u can overally minimise frequent water changes.....but still fishes poop and u have to clean it.

Not really, no. All fish need regular weekly maintenance and if you don't want to do the weekly cleaning then you probably shouldn't have a fish, otherwise it'll just get dirty and gross, and be more trouble that it;s worth.
I'm guessing it's a small tank, yes? You might be able to get away with it if you do something small, you know? Like an african dwarf frog? Just one ADF, a few plants, and you could get away with cleaning only once every other week. A betta would be a good choice also, but weekly maintenance is necessary.
However, the weekly cleanings don't need to be a lot of work :) Get a clean turkey baster, and once a week (or once a day if you don't have a filter on the tank), suck out 40% of the water (along with any uneaten food/poop) and replace with fresh water. It'll take you all of 5 minutes and your fish will be happy, and the tank will be clean, smell nice, etc.

I would suggeset bubble mollies, they are soo cute. A small algae eater would help cla=ean things up too. Get a drawf puffer, they are territorial though.
