Wasim And Waqar..By Far

Since the question specifies OPENING bowlers, I would have to say Ambrose and Walsh. They were a partnership that could dominate you right from the first ball - as the England side of 1994 who were bowled out for 46.

One of the answers above said Waqar and Wasim were great at finishing off the innings - this is why I went with Ambrose and Walsh. The two W's were fantastic bowlers, but were at their best once the ball got old and they could use reverse swing. Ambrose and Walsh were more effective with the brand new ball and were able to dominate top orders. This is why I think they were better - they got it done when it mattered.

I think it will be unfair if we don't add Lillee and Thompson of Australia in the list and then what about Holding and Roberts anyway to answer your question I would say Wasim and Waqar were perhaps the most lethal pair of opening fast bowlers the world of cricket has ever seen as admitted by Micheal Holding when they were on top of their game, in West Indies. Wasim with his ability to swing the ball both ways and Waqar with sheer pace and toe crushing yorkers made them most feared opening fast bowlers. If both were lethal with the pace and swing with the new ball they were even disastrous with the old ball as both were master of reverse swing.

All of them no doubt were great when attacking opponents from both ends there are few more if you search for.
The three pairs you mentioned I will choose Wasim and Waqar as most lethal since a right left combination and they proved them self a bit more than the rest two pairs am I right

It depends on the pitch... if the pitch is good for fast bowlers it will be Ambrose & Walsh.if the pitch is good for pace bowlers it will be Donald & Pollock.if the pitch is good for medium pace the it will be Wasim & Waqar.

my best openning bowlers are Ambrose & Walsh from west indies.

All the three are equally good. But I feel Waqar and Wasim are the best because they delivered most in spite of the in differences within the team.
