A guy in my class said there making a SIMS 3. Is this true?

When is it coming out?

I was planing on getting Sims 2 soon, but not if theres a Sims 3 coming out soon.

PS: I'm talking about for the PS2, XBox, Ex.
Not the PC game.

EA's CFO Warren Jenson has stated: "Yes, there's a Sims 3 in development and it's likely to be a fiscal '09 title,", meaning the game would hit stores before April 2009. The executive also confirmed that the Sims franchise will also be coming to two next-generation platforms--the Wii and the PlayStation 3.
