I dont agree.
If you won a million dollar lottery jackpot, and I witnessed it and say something about it, do I win money too?

Because I like to argue both sides, I would ask," does that mean that a priest that is told of an atrocity while hearing confessions guilty if he does nothing." My opinion is no. A person who would not stop it or remains silent is a coward, but I don't see how they are guilty of the same offense. Wiesel himself observed a self-imposed vow of silence and wrote nothing about his wartime experience. Does this make him guilty of the same crimes that were done to him.
I personally agree with the statement though. Good luck arguing against this man!

These days we witness atrocity and acts of inhumanity so often that we can't do something about all of them.

I do agree with this statement!!
However, if, by trying to help the victim, I would endanger the life of other people, I don't know what choice I would make. (never been in a situation like that)

i agree with it.. but you could say that if the person who committed this act didn't do it, then you wouldn't have had the chance to stand by and do nothing.. but that statement is true

I know this statement, I read that book when I was in college.
I feel bad for you that you have to contradict Elie Wiesel.

If your children could be in danger because of your taking action, then your allegiance belongs with your children and not in doing the 'right' thing.

Sorry I agree with it. To not help someone is a crime in my eyes.

Well, someone has to tell the cops what happened. By jumping in the middle and trying to stop it, you might not be the one who tell the cops.

Sad but true, and there's a lot of that that goes on everyday. People are afraid of getting involved.
