For the record, I am not againstthe guy, and certainly never have been a fan of Bush. Besides going to Harvard (whoopty damn do), voting against the war and for stem cells, I haven't heard much of substance from him.

What did Bush do that was so spectacular? Or Clinton?

Nothing.

If you ask me, its better that Obama hasnt had much time in the senate. That means he is less likely to be out to do something for himself like Bush has. (Haliburton, anyone?)

He had enough sense to know that Iraq was a mistake. He had the guts to stand up and vote against going to Iraq when the popular thing to do at that time was go. He has as much experience as Bush who was only Governor of TX. He's intelligent and Harvard educated. He appears to sincerely care about people and supports stem cell research. He will make an excellent Presidential candidate.

At this point, very little.

However, he's my current favorite candidate, simply for his views on non-partisanship.

I am seriously disgusted with the current state of affairs in American politics. The whole "I am good and if you're not with me you must be bad" attitude, and the inability of our Senators and Congressmen to work together has seriously got to stop.

When I come to work, I am required by my employer to listen to and solicit input from all of my coworkers who might be able to help the situation, regardless of their backgrounds. The fact that our elected officials don't have the ability to do the same is shameful...Why can't they just be grown-ups, for Pete's sake, and assume that everyone there has something to offer?

What I hear from Obama indicates he wants to fix this. And I personally believe that fixing this problem is the ONLY way that America will be able to move forward and solve the problems that we'll face in the future.

I think one of the things that people see is that he is a smart, and civil man. They also see he isn't a part of the establishment. He's not some old windbag whose been mooching off of the tax payers like he was some sort of Lord with noble title.

(I appologize to our royalist friends across the Pond, but, this is an American issue, and we don't believe in the holding of title in this country. It's divisive.)

But, anyway, he's an outsider with manners and education. Folks like that.

I would suggest reading an internet biography, reading his book (The Audacity of Hope) and checking out his political views at the below link.

So far the only thing I can see that he has going for him is that he is an eloquent speaker. But I amNOT with him on where he stands on the issues (he is too far to the left fot me). I seriously doubt he'll get the nomination.

I think people just like him because he sounds intelligent, although says nothing, and he is black. The PC people like that.

He just might select a Vice President and a cabinet that isn't owned by Halliburtin

He's a blank slate and everyone can write their own ideas and aspirations on him, thus making him whatever the person wants him to be.

I probably be a better president than Obama. Then again his name does sound like Osama's.
