f(x)= -16x^2 + h where h = 1050

What are the x-intercepts? I got about -8.1 and about +8.1 using the quadratic formula and I'm not sure.

That's what I got, too, but I tell ya ... college algebra was about eight years ago. Seems pretty simple, although the numbers are a little misleading (a very small answer despite very large integers).

i have'nt heard of a 'quadratic formula' i think the info u got is wrong or not sufficient.
the x intercepts of ny equation are the points that intersect the x axis and in this case if u substitute f(x)=0 in the equation f(x)=h=1050.
x^2=1050/16=65.125=8.1009
so the intercept could be
8.1009
