They get along quite well, they just can't ice dance together.
It's because of the earth's rotation at the opposite poles - bears twirl clockwise and penguins twirl counterclockwise.

Birds of a feather flock together. But in this case, these two animals bear one another pretty well. I've actually seen both with spray cans of fake snow flocking all the vegetation in site. Doesn't matter that they are miles apart from one another..... they both know that there'snow place like home.
