My best friend and I will be in San Francisco for one day. We're looking for a great seafood restaurant somewhere near the touristy areas of the city. We'll be casually dressed, so it can't be a fancy spot. Something not too pricey would be awesome. Thanks!

The restaurants at Fishermans Wharf are overpriced tourist traps with not so great food!

If you like oysters, Hog Island at the Ferry Plaza, is the place to go. I strongly urge you to try any of the following: Tadich (a true SF experience), Pesce, Yabbie's Coastal Kitchen, and the SF favorite (but not in touristy area) Swan Oyster Depot. The food and bang for your buck will be much better at any of these places.

Joe's Crab Shack is the best! It is casual, fun and the food is fantastic! It is near Fisherman's Wharf.
You could also go to Boudin's at Fisherman's Wharf for the clam chowder in a bread bowl. Yummy!

Restaurants on Pier 39 or Fisherman's Wharf are plentiful. I like Scoma's on Pier 47. No dress code.

Yep, BTrix is right...There are a ton of them at Fisherman's Wharf, not to mention Pier 39. Just show up & pick one...they're all good!

Mmm, clam chowder in a bread bowl...now I'm getting hungry!

Joe's Crab Shack rocks- and the waiters periodically do a choreographed dance just because. It's really fun and the food is good too!

No use to you whatsoever but the best sea food restaurant in Liverpool UK is Dave's Dingle Diner.

Just go down to Fisherman's Wharf - there's tons of great resturants there that are cheap, fun and casual.
