Wow...looking at the responses it's no wonder there are the situations there are. The people who complain are typically the people who create anything to complain about.
Sometimes people are satisfied. I don't think that's necessarily a good thing though. Along the lines of what someone else said the distinction must be made between unfulfilled, growing desires and actual discontent.
And don't flatter yourself. Maybe it sucks to starve but how arrogant can you be to think that someone would trade lives to play with the iPod your folks got you with their credit card debt when as far as we know those people are happy hunting and dancing around with friends and family in the boonies of some gloriously beautiful countryside.

Humans have what no other animal has- ambition. And in order to have ambition we have to have a certain amount of greed. It's the driving force that took us from ancient times into the technology we have today. Without it, we'd still be rubbing sticks together and not doing anything to better ourselves. We would be content to just exist. And that would make us no different from any other animal.

We just were made like that, me personally i think that like would be just boring if everything was perfect. Not saying that I wouldn't want the killing,raping,robbing,etc. to stop because i would. We as humanity will never be satisfied, no matter what, we will always feel like we are missing something.

Humans are never satisfied because we are human. God gave us freedom of choice. We chose to be imperfect. Jesus was sent to save us but our daily sin keeps us imperfect. Imperfection includes all kinds of horrible things such as gluttony, never being satisfied, being vain, selfishness, greed, sexual perversions and so forth. The only way to truly be happy is to give our sins and imperfections to God. Besides.....anyone who feigns for what you have is also committing a sin.

Also, your question doesn't make sense...you're asking why humans aren't satisfied, but then refer to humans in third world nations. Did you mean to ask why Americans are never satisfied?

Some people more than others cant help putting more on their plate.
Ever been to a dinner party and because its free you will see somebody at the buffet filling up their plat like a mountain.
