This is absolutely true, a few years ago we had to live in a hotel for a few months the builder had made a right balls up of our new house.
My wife is a nurse so we both worked shifts and was allowed connecting rooms in a nice hotel while the house was repaired.
After waking in the twin room on my own as I got out of bed my hand slipped on the sheet I went to the toilet switched the light on and my hand was covered in blood I could`nt find where it had come from I woke my wife in the next room and she found the my bed was covered in blood , after a frantic search we found a pin prick in my back with blood coming from it we took the sheet to the night porters desk, he looked astonished we went to hospital,it,it was full of people and we were flying to spain on holiday that day so my wife put a dressing on the pin prick in my back, we got to Spain and it was still bleeding. you boffins out there please tell what bit me? The hotel was spotless I swear this is true.

Honestly, I believe it may have been bed bugs. They do bite, and sometimes, they do make guests bleed. Especially since they are the size of a pin's head, you most likely got a bed bug bite. They can happen in even the cleanest of hotels.

Dont really know, but i dont think it would be fleas, I had a couple of bites from my neighbours cat and they mainly just itch and only go for your legs. It sounds nasty, I know some things that suck the blood out of you release something that thins your blood so they can have their full meal without the blood clotting, that might explain why the bleeding wouldnt stop.

weird. any kind of tiny insect could have, but probably not enough to draw so much blood. Maybe it was a pin of some sort from your PJ's or the sheets.

I agree that it sounds like bed bugs. It's not just for dirty, rent-by-the-hour hotels anymore. There was just a news story out in which a man's hotel room at the posh Mandarin was infested with bed bugs.
