they're not supposed to hurt the baby since its not like an xray or anything the sounds waves just bounce off the baby and reflect the picture to the screen. as far as annoyance...it annoyed the heck outta mine! At 20 weeks my baby made it a point to punch the scanner twice as the lady rolled over the uterus clearly interupting the baby and its activities lol. it began flipping all over the place and twirling around as she tried to view it, baby was visibly annoyed! But then again who wants to be under covers comfy and warm and have someone poking them through the comforter or something!

My baby was really annoyed by the ultrasound; turned back to it and stayed that way so I had to go back for another one. Even then kicked and tried to avoid it. Even with the doppler, always gives it a good kick right after we get the heartrate!!

I really doubt it. When I had my ultrasound the baby was all over the place. It's like they were showing off. Haha!

i had four with this last pregnancy and i spotted after each one, apparently it can affect some babys, luckily my daughter was fine in the end :)

not at all, those are different frecuency sound, he can not hear a thing.

i'm sure they don;t like it casue its something pressing down on them but it doesn't hurt them, cause if it did then i don't think they would do them.
