At the moment the dots (pixels?) are very spread out, the picture is larger than usual & resolution of pictures is shocking. It's only showing the darker contrasts. This is no thanks to my 5 year old of course......it's very annoying. Any pointers (clear, simple instructions) would be greatly appreciated.

Your display settings have probably gotten screwed up, try right clicking anywhere on the desktop and see if you can bring up 'properties' then choose the 'settings' tab and change the resolution (it has probably been set to the lowest possible setting).

When you right click - look and see if there is an option to 'restore active desktop' - if so, then choose that and it will probably bring it back.

If you can't see enough to get that far, then reboot the machine, and as it is coming back on, keep pressing 'F8' until it bring up a boot menu - choose 'safe mode' and then try the above steps once it boots - it will be in low resolution when it comes up, so you should be able to see everything (though it may look strange).

you ought to have a Degauss selection interior the video reveal gadgets OSD menu. attempt hitting that some cases. besides the undeniable fact that, you will ought to attend approximately 20 minutes between cycles for the degauss circuit to reset appropriate. If that may not having an result then take the visual reveal unit to a television fix keep and that they are going to be waiting to apply a miles greater effectual degauss wand or ring on it. it is going to take approximately 30 seconds to repair. i could strongly propose against strapping magnets to a drill. that feels like a solid thank you to get a magnet embedded interior the wall, or maybe worse in you.

You need to know the display resolution of your monitor.

The manual will tell you this. Or phone the tech support line.

Right click a vacant area of your Desktop > Properties > Settings

and slide the bar to the correct setting.

Dead pixels on Display panel

According to HP Pixel policy, the following numbers of defective pixels are allowed:

Bright sub-pixel defects: 3 maximum

Dark sub-pixel defects: 5 maximum

Total combined bright and dark sub-pixel defects: 5 maximum

If the NB in question has the defective pixels lower than the above mentioned number, then explain the Customer, it is normal, and there is no need of replacement for that.
