Please support my statement when I say "People need to open their eyes to the world in front of them and not immediately dismiss the idea that this is an ongoing and never ending practice." Women like her need to be aware.

Oh honey, rape isn't only an "everyday practice" it's an every 5-minute practice. That's just statistics. And that's without most rape even being reported.

And if you look worldwide, the stats are just as bad. Multiple rapes are happening as I type this. Rape is used as a tool of war by armies and has been for thousands of years. Wherever humans want to control other humans, or to humiliate them, there will be rape. We must work to change that in human nature.

That woman is very sheltered. I have met more women who have been raped than women who have not. Most of these rapes are not random crimes, they are date rapes or even committed by men that are in a relationship with their victims. It is a Very common occurrence, and all women should be aware of this. I also think that maybe for all the women who we know have been raped, there are probably more that have been, but never told anyone.

it's a lot more common than even statistics show. i grew up in a small town, there were about 25 girls in my high school class and i knew most of them fairly well. of that 25, about 10 - 12 of them told me directly at some point that they had already been molested or raped (i can't remember exactly, but i'm being conservative on the numbers). i only knew of 3 girls who said they had never been. (the other 10 or so, who knows)
and that was only by the time they were in high school!

In the US, one in five women will be victims of rape in their lifetime. A woman is raped every 3 minutes (but less than 25% are reported). 55 percent of American women report having experienced rape and/or physical assault in their life-time. 10 women are killed by their batterers each day .

Not only is it an everyday practice but it often goes unreported by many women that are ashamed, embarresed, or scared of the backlash that is associated with it.

Rape is high because we value christian ideas. This causes people to not express thier sexuality freely. As a result many people are sexually frustrated, and that is what leads to rape. If prostitution was legal, do you think people would need to rape. But we are christians and need to follow the bible....-.-
