You could hardly blame them if they were....
Saddam's political party ("the insurgents") is still trying to get power back: I guess you could call them the sociopath party. Then various Islamist terrorists (people who want a worldwide Islamic government and Sharia law) join in to prevent democracy, which they see as a backward step. The regular Iraqi people have shown great courage in participating in elections and working for a normal peaceful life. But Iraq has been plagued with coups and dictatorships since it got its independence in the 1930s, so they don't have much practice.

Apparently some ofthem are, and they are being whipped up into a state of frenzy by their religious leaders screaming about how evil America and the western world are trying to destroy them. If you have to listen to this 5 times a day, you'd probably start to believe the lies as well. I think that if they went into the mosques and arrested all the Imams and mullahs doing this and replaced them with pacifists, the country would settle down.

We are from two different sides of the planet. We just don't understand, or want to understand each other. The fact that there culture is so different from ours, and we keep shoving our beliefs down their throat doesn't help the situation. Like wise, they would like nothing more than to convert the whole world into muslims. It wouldn't matter though, there will never be world peace because mankind is so distructive.

Completely different set of beliefs and values. They don't like that infidels have invaded their country and are now trying to make them (the muslims) conform to an infidel government. It is a terrible insult to their God. It's all a religious thing.
You could also say, "what wrong with people in America? They're against stem cell research and believe humans co-existed with dinosaurs - are they crazy??"

They are in the middle of a sectarian civil war, while at the same time dealing with an occupying army. That might tend to make people a bit testy.

Anyone playing the Muslim card should note that Iraq is a multicultural country, so not everyone who lives there is Muslim.

Uh..no. I doubt in general they're all crazy. It's a different culture, different way of thinking. I'm sure they find some of the things you do pretty insane.
