Shilpa was not from a different culture?

I agree that the others are being unfair towards Shilpa, and some of the comments have been ignorant but in my opinion this is not racially based.

If the girls were from the same background would this cause as much upset ?

That in essence is the problem with cultural debate. We (white British) find ourselves in the ridiculous position of having to walk on eggshells whenever we interact with a different race group. Its immediately construed that any negative remark is racist, this clearly is not the case. It is easy to sidestep real cultural issues by playing the race card but what does it really achieve? The worsening of cross culture relations can be put down to two very basic, but painful, truths - Different culture groups find it very difficult to relate to each other, Immigrants are exactly that immigrants, they must, for the sake of our society, become British in every sense of the word. If they don't want to do this then they should leave, not drag us down into conflict. - This country has for too long now accepted with open arms anyone and everyone. To the extent that in some (growing) areas you wouldn't believe you were in Britain if you walked down the street. This is wrong, there is absolutely no cultural integration and they become a breeding ground for extremists.. Dangerous.

There is a lot of bullying but to say that it is racist. Both side have taken the mick of there voices. And to tell someone to go home is rude but racist I think not. Im a white male and I ask you this if I told 1 a Black man 2 a Polish man 3 a Indain man 4 a white man to go home in the same way in the same voice would they all be a racist remark. I think not. In fact there is only one person who has mention colour. You tell me who?
