The best way for me is to make a list and prioritize the items on my list. You'll want to be sure to take a break at least once an hour and reward yourself for staying on track (a piece of chocolate, 10 minutes of web surfing, a quick nap, etc.). That way you won't feel overloaded and you won't get bored. Hope this helps!

I use to do lists and I only take breaks when I achieve a goal I set for myself - like half of the list and then a break. That way, I get to enjoy my free time because I have already completed my list and I can really relax without anything hanging over my head.

Motivation - You need something motivate
Desperation - If things are desperate, you will not procrastinate
Reward - with some reward in mind, you may not want to procrastinate
Negative reinforcement - some warning of bad consequence will help. A lesson will be learned
