I live in the ghetto. The kids I know are proud to say it's a risk for them to walk down the street, that they would probably get mugged on this street, that you could find hundreds of drug dealers in this area.
Then there are the kids who go on and on about how it is bad where they live once someone robs a cornerstore.

Why do people desire to live in the ghetto? ♥

Yo, Dog, I live in the ghetto! That is a phrase someone would use if they lived there. It is like a badge of honor if you do and survive to tell about it.

I think that some people that live in the ghetto live a "ghetto lifestyle". These people that hustle in the ghetto take pride in taking advantage of people, hustling; and they also want people to think that they are tougher since they are from a rougher area.... it's actually sad! The children have to be exposed to this stuff..... really sad. The parents need to teach their children ALOT!

People believe it makes them seem tough to come from a rough neighborhood. I lived in Kansas City, Missouri in a not so nice neighborhood but that doesn't make me proud. It's kind of embarrassing admitting that I lived in an area like that. People are usually proud of where they come from anyways, but people who thrive from their "ghetto" living situation are just ignorant.

in case you're paying for the area, continuously elect the terrific area you will get. If the valuables marketplace ought to adventure a downturn, then that's going to be so lots greater "recession evidence". this is till the grotty section is "up and coming" ie. it ought to grow to be a desireable place to stay contained in here few years. be careful however, those shows are particularly uncommon in recent times and you need to be caught residing able you hate. in case you're renting, i might nonetheless elect the superb section - theres lots you're able to do to make the area greater livable, yet no longer lots you're able to do on your neighbourhood. solid success

i wouldn't say i looked froward to growing up in the ghetto. but i believe i'm astronger person because of it. i've had to face obstacles that people in the suburbs would never understand and it has made me mature for my age.
i hate when people who have no idea what ghetto life is and they go around saying :that's ghetto." or i"'m soo ghetto". it pisses me off. and most of them wouldn't last 2 days on my old block.

because they desire the sympathy and attention broadcasting such gets them. they see how rich it's made people in the rap and hip hop industry and i imagine they want to imitate those people in hope of achieving the same recognition. PEOPLE: talk to someone with real problems, and get over yourself.

It makes them feel tough.

Probably for the same reason rappers have to keep mentioning how many times they were shot/shot at or actors who have to say how tough it was in their town when they grew up. They want you to think, "Wow! I wouldn't want to mess with him/her!"
