why are you feeling guilty about sleeping during the hours of 4 a.m. and 12 p.m. Has someone said anything to you about your wake and sleep schedule? Unless you are omitting some additional information I personally don't see anything wrong with you choosing to stay up so late. Are you disturbing a family member? If you're married has your spouse made a comment about it? Has your friends or girlfriend put you on the spot and you feel uncomfortable? If the answer is no to all of these questions then don't worry about it.
In addition while I don't see a problem with the sleep schedule you have chosen to adopt because you are sleeping the entire morning does this prevent you from doing anything else that may be important?
Finally, if you want to change your sleeping schedule it will be difficult at first, but it is possible. Force yourself to get up and leave the house. If you don't leave then you will eventually fall back asleep. Yes, you will become drowsy at work; if you drink coffee or tea this may help you to stay awake. You can also try changing your sleep schedule by gradually awakening each day one hour earlier than the day before. Good luck

You have to try to brake your cycle (sleeping pattern). If you suceed to do it once or twice, you will most probably be able to keep it up.
In short, make sure to be really tired around 1 am by doing some sport after work or just walk for an hour. Or try to wake up earlier (use 2 alarms at different spots in your room as suggested earlier), go out earlier in the morning and you will be tired earlier.
Do it a couple of times and you will be able to break your cycle.

Yes... this is terrible . Unfortunatly can you get a job that is 1st shift? Working 2 or 3rd shift will forever cause you to sleep all day. There is just no way out of it. After work one needs about 3-4 hrs to chill and then get tired. You get home and eat and watch tv, so you are wired.. it makes sence. I get home at 6pm and am wired till about 10pm. So find another job so you dont turn into someone who has no sense of time.. because I am sure it sucks, and you probably always feel tired too. Sorry and good luck

Of course medication is the simplest solution, but that doesn't work for everyone. Get into a routine, say, "Okay in PJ's by nine, teeth brushed and ready to go by ten, watch TV, read or use the computer for a while and definitely be in bed trying to fall asleep by 12." Of course that's just an example but something like that.

Try putting your alarm on the other side of the room so that you have to get up to turn it off.
