In reading some of the other posts I have another perspective. Masons in their rituals from what I understand and from what I have seen in looking in masonic lodges make heavy references to certain symbolisms, one being the 5 pointed star which is supposed to represent the star sirius which is also referenced as "the dog star", you see that in corporate logos everywhere like the Texaco star, the star that is the eye of the dog for Sirius Satelite Radio(That's a symbol within a symbol- the dog star, get it?), Wal * Mart, The Converse star. Most freemasons are very prominent business men also. What symbol is part of the B.E.T. logo? In case you don't know what that is, Black Entertainment Television. There is a lot of hip hop on that chanel so there has to be some sort of involvement. Freemasons are not limited to lawyers or high ranking individuals there are also a very large number of law enforcement freemasons, judges (ok so a judge is a glorified lawyer), actors, actresses, politicians, anyone in any high profile highly influencial position, bankers, members of the armed forces and the list goes on...so I would have to say, yes, many hip hop artists are probably part of Prince Hall Masonry, I just never cared enough to actually try and find out who, but I am curious now.

The Illuminati were never devil worshipers, and they were only men who took an interest in the religious social structure of the day. I believe these musical artists are enamored by the community aspect of these organizations, and may have created something named after them, but they hardly resemble the true factions. Perhaps there is truth to the ritualistic rumors, but I hardly thing Jay-Z is a devil worshiper. These men grew up in hard places and times, they feel a connection and a sense of camaraderie, they happened to see or read the Davinci Code or something to that effect. They created a community where they can pool their influence and resources, just see how many artists Jay-Z has given a career. Still, for whatever they call their community, it can hardly be a part of the Masons or the Illuminati as we know them.

I don't think Freemasons are to hip hop, it's more of a gentleman's club. Most of them I know are lawyers, business owners, doctors and such. Basically professional people that donate time and money to the community.

I can't say for sure. Some are Rosicrucians. A couple of Zoroastrians.

The Heavy Metal groups are heavily dominated by members of the United Crystal Methodists...

Are there any popular muscians in the Freemasons period. Any rockstars, pop start, gospel stars...I doubt it highly.
