Hackney cab drivers are still required by law to carry a bale of hay around with them at all times under section 51 of the London Hackney Carriage Act 1831. This would mean that the cabbie would come with his own filling, so surely reducing taxidermy costs...

No. Clock this. He charges by the meter and seams dear and you won't get much to chauffeur it. He can't stitch in a straight line either, if he's been spending too much time with his friend the alchemist- always drunk. The only consulation is, he never takes short cuts.
