Frequently - and it kept me trying at that young age! What a shame they don't do it now, it might help all of the morons on this site to appreciate competition as a way of youngsters excelling. The majority of people on this site (to my experience) are a bunch of naive imbeciles, who have yet to experience real life.

I remember I got a gold star for my neat handwriting when I was about 6. I think I let it go to my head though 'cause I it hasn't improved since then.

when I was in school they couldn't afford things like that
I DID a get a red ribbon for learning to tie my laces in first grade though. That was a middle class school so they had money for things like that. We still had to bring our own cupcakes on our birthday though.
