When is a good time in a relationship to have sex for the first time with the other person or lose your virginity? I'm not looking to have sex tomorrow, I was just wondering about when a good time would be according to random people.

The best time would be on your wedding night.

As a man of thirty-one years of age and a daughter of fourteen, I can relate to you. She asked me this very same question. I know she is still a virgin. Trust me, I know. Here is what I told her. Although nowadays there are not many virgins running around and many young women tend to loose their virginity at a young age, you will be the one to decided when it will be your time. Athough I would like to see her wear a white wedding dress and really wear it for what it is, I can safely assume that it will not be so. You will have to make this decision after carefull thinking and consideration. Your boyfriend at this point in time is only thinking of one thing: To get in your pants and move on to the next one. Most if not all men are like this, myself included when I was not married. You might get your feelings hurt after the first time, or you might think that you made a mistake. When it happens, it is a beautifull thing. Two people becoming one is the most wonderfull thing that can happen. On the other hand, if you have a bad first time or if you are forced into it (raped), you will have a psycological scar that could last you your entire life. Your virginity is your most precious gift, give it to someone only after you have thought it through. Always ask questions to your parents about it. My daughter asks me alot of questions when it comes to sex. I am a little squeemish to answer, but I feel that she gets the right answers from an experienced man than from some fourteen year old punk who just wants to get in her pants.

A good time is when you and your partner feel comfortable and committed to each other. These days there are so many things that sex can bring, from pregnancy to incureable STD's. You should know your partner really well and he, you before having sex.

After careful discussion, and mutual agreement, choose a time when both parties have sufficient time to devote to both the sex act itself, and a thoughtful discussion afterward.

It might also be a good idea to have friends with whom you can discuss the subject available both before and after.

You will not get a good answer to this question from the Internet. Look within yourself, because this is one of those things for which there can be no general rule.

For your first time, it's important that you make sure it's right, and if you have to ask yourself if it's right, it's not right. You'll just know. I promise you that if you don't, you'll have regrets about it for the whole rest of your life...
