you can do this from several ways, this is the most general one:
(steps in windows xp)


1- Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System tools -> Defragment tool
2- then you will have the list of all your hard disk patritions,
3- choose the one you need to defrag, you can first press the "analysis" button , or directly pree the "Defragment" button.

note : it may take several hours to complete, so don't panic if it did :)
