I've missed 3 periods and know I'm not pregnant because i'm still a virgin. I don't have any unusual signs...no back problems, headaches, bloating or anything. I'm 17 and have had regular periods for four years, but my last period was in october and i haven't had one since. I don't know what to do. I haven't told anyone and don't really want to go to the doctors or anything. Should I wait a little longer and just see if my period comes or go to the doctors now? Please help.... I really don't know what to do!

Have you been under more stress than usual, at home or at school?

Have your eating habits changed? (starting a new diet, not eating enough iron or have you lost weight?)

There are several factors that can contribute to skipping a period. Yours is on its way, its just late for one reason or another. Don't worry about it, but see your doctor anyway.

There could be numerous problems that could be causing irregular periods. Stress is one of the biggest culprits. It could also be your eating habits. If your eating too little.

Some teens may develop irregular periods - or stop having periods altogether - as a result of a hormone imbalance. Disorders of the thyroid gland can cause menstrual irregularities if the levels of thyroid hormone in the blood become too low or too high.

Hon, I would reccomend going to the docs as soon as possible. :)

Either you're not eating anything or you're exercising a lot. My friend is having the same problem, she hasnt gotten her period for a very long time, she went to the doctors and shes not pregnent and shes completely fine, go see your doctor thought, it might help.

If you're anorexic...eat! A lack of food can cause you to not have periods.
