I actually got engaged about 1 month before I got pregnant but planned on having a LONG engagement, but since I was already planning on getting married, we are getting married once he gets back from Iraq about 1 month before the baby is due and having the actual ceremony at a later date when it can be well planned since my family is in Maine and His is in Alababma and We live in New Mexico. My parents did not marry until I was 6 months old. If you don't get married before the baby is born, then it could possibly mean a little bit more paper work once you do get married. My bf and were talking about getting married months ago. A little bit later we found out I was pregnant. We still want to get married, but I don't want to be pregnant walking down the aisle. He suggested that we get married by the Justice of the Peace now, and when the baby is born, plan a formal ceremony. I am still in the process of thinking about it. Quite honestly, I don't think your child will hold it against you that you weren't married 1st. As long as you two get along and are happy together, the baby is in a good situation even if you're not married. I don't think people should hop and get married just because of a child. They should want to get married because they love each other. Love is an important part to a family, and just because you're not hitched doesn't mean there is any less love.

I found out I was pregnant on December 23, 2006. January 6, 2007 I was married! Even though it was planned in 2 weeks it was a gorgeous wedding and we had over 50 people there supporting us. I am madly in love with my husband and saw no reason to wait, I want my children born to married parents not just 2 people dating. Personal opinion really...

I got married 6 months before my daughter was born. Now 8 1/2 years later we are still happy and currently expecting our 4th child. But that is just our story.

Me and my husband got married when our little boy was 9 months old. We got married in 2005 but we have been together since 1993. We were going to wait until after we got married to get pregnant but for medical reasons the doctor said to go ahead and try. We are happily married and planning #2.

I was 3 months pregnant when I got married. My dress looked great on me and everything went really good. I'm due in April and hubby and I will be married 6 months when our little angel is born.
I would of waited to have a baby until I got married, but sometimes things happen. :)
