Well, let's just say its becoming quite unoriginal.
Sure, there are artists who do something that sounds like nothing anyone has done before. However, at the same time, many of the artists all take each other's style, and become famous off of that.
the other bad thing about today's music is that so much of it is all effects, synthesizers, and instrumental tracks as opposed to the live thing. And, half of the so-called "musicians" out there today can't even play or perform their own music live. They often have to lip-sync in order for it to even moderately resemble the initial studio song. Which, really is a disgrace if you think about it. Why pay for a concert ticket if you're just hearing the track you have at home, while you watch the person lip-sync?
Today's music also has very many negative things in it. The amount of profanity, sex appeal, and mentions of drugs and alcohol seem to have hit an all-time high. A lot of rap, for instance, seems to send the message that it is okay to beat women, do drugs, and do sexual things with multiple people. A lot of the rock of today is much the same, with added mentions of suicide and death.
Not all music of today is like this, and a lot of it is nice to listen to anyway, but it seems to have just gone down to overproduced, under recorded garbage.


*however, NOT all music of today is like this. There is SOME music of all genres that is still great, and is REAL)
