Should athletes be required to play gym?

i have to write a 3 page paper on Should athletes be required to participate in physical education classes? and i said yes i think they should b/c if they are playing another sport that is on their own time and doesn't have to do with gym but i really don't know what else i can put....or if there are any sites i can't get information please help me and its due tomorrow

What about if they are playing school sports that would kill your argument that they are doing it on their own time, maybe if they are doing club sports they are doing it on their own time but school teams are school sports. Then are we to say all smart people should have to be on the debate team or math club, anyone that can dance or act have to be in theatre. Most do athletes I used to know do it anyway because it's an easy A for them.
