I am a first time mom. My own childhood wasn't the greatest so it did not leave me with the best parenting techniques to carry forward. My son is now 19 months and thankfully, I have done a great job so far, mainly by learning along the way. However, I do enjoy this show. It has taught me about many things to expect possibly, as well as how to properly deal with some of the issues I face now with my son.
Overall, I think her techniques are pretty common sense, but I guess that many of the parents on the show are so overwhelmed by the time they contact her, that they have lost much of thier common sense in child rearing. By the time she gets there, things are so out of hand, and it seem that the kids just run the show! I would never let my child get like that. I really think it is all a matter of facing the issues as they arise and showing your child in a loving, yet clear way, that you are the boss-not them.

im glad there is somebody out there to help with issues of the such..but what really really gets me is how people let their family structure get that bad!!! wow..remind me why i dont want kids!!!

lol I love that show! just because I do though, my family is fine no problems like those kids.

jeez, those programmes are so annoying... besides, it is the parents who need classes!!! :D
