I just love to give my 11-month old daughter hugs and kisses, but she seems to dislike/get frustrated at the affection. (It seems like she's been this way in the past too, generally.) Is this normal?

11 months is a pretty exciting time, and it may just be that she wants to be moving and exploring, not getting held for hugs and kisses. Maybe try being affectionate at nap time, when you are carrying her somewhere or getting in and out of the car, etc.
Just don't take it personal, it doesn't mean she doesn't love you to peices too! *grin*

I think it's perfectly normal. Different children receive love in different ways. It seems to have a lot to do with personality. My daughter is more independent while my son is more cuddly. My daughter, however, loves for me to do things for her. She's not really into hugs and kisses but even though she's only three, she loves getting little massages. (My mom has a lot of back and leg problems so she has seen me giving mom massages.) She is also very excited if I make her something like curtains, a dress, or a crocheted hat. I recommend reading The Five Love Languages of Children by Gary Chapman. It will help you discover the way to show your daughter love in the way that will mean the most to her. Good luck and don't feel like a bad parent just because she doesn't share your love language. :)

if she gets frustrated stop doing it so much. maybe u r smothering her. try kissing and hugging her like only when she goes to bed, when she wakes up, if u leaving to go somewhere and when u come back.
maybe she just wants to play and not be affectionate. this is normal.

She has never gone without that love so it may seem a little too smothering for her but you know its just your love for her. She will be more affectinate when she is a little older.
