your local thrift store (goodwill, salvation army, etc) is an excellent option. Both of my reasons fit your needs exactly. One, they are cheap. you can get a pair of sweath for something in the vicinity of a quarter, same thing with sweatshirts, etc. and the selection is something that the newer clothing options don't have (where else are you going to get a vintage 60's sweatshirt that says "Love everyone" for less than a buck?). Secondly, since the clothes have all been worn they are already broken in and nicely comfortable. A third benefit is that it helps people in need. A lot of cities have thrift stores that donate their proceeds to homeless shelters, teen pregnancy centers, veterans, etc, and they often employ handicapped people that would have a difficult time getting work elsewhere.

Please note that I highly recommend washing the clothes prior to wearing them. But I'm a germaphobe, so, that's just me.

Here are a few great suggestions for cheap and comfortable:

Old Navy
The Gap
WalMart
Target
Fashion Bug
TJMaxx
NY & Co
eBay
Victorias Secret (They are now having up to 60% off online)

Get these items closer to the end of summer for the best deals. This is when many retalers are clearing out Spring/Summer, to make room for winter items. Even Express has $9.99 bins during odd times of the year that are GREAT!

Good Luck!

Honestly, I find a lot of cheap comfortable stuff at Walgreens. Like 3 sweatshirts for $10, sweatpants, and tons of tees and pajama pants.

If you're looking for comfy clothes that don't cost too much, Target is your place. Old Navy has some pretty comfy clothes too.

If you're looking for comfy and cute, Victoria's Secret has REALLY cute sweats and hoodies. There's SO many colors and they're all really really cute.

Aeropostale has SUPER comfy sweatpant and sweatshirts, the only thing is, is that you have to get them on sale. Usually the sale is like 12.00 and 14.99.
