What happens if haven't been to see your p.o in several months but have tried reaching him and haven't paid and the cops come out to your house looking for you but you wasn't there.

If you paid what you owed would you be ok?

How long would you be in jail if they picked you up?

You need to find your P.O or at least let the district attorney's office in the area you report to know you have been looking for him, because there might already be a bench warrant out for your arrest.

They can keep you in jail for the entire time you had left on probation. Let's say you have a 3 year probation. So far you have been on it for 1 year. They could keep you in jail for 2 years!

It totally depends on the rules and procedures of your specific probation. If your probation requires that you report in the office, physically, once a week, you have to do this. If your probation requires that you can call in and you haven't done anything wrong, you should be fine. However sometimes POs will violate someone on rumors. I would encourage you to make an appointment with your PO as a check in and SHOW up on time.

Whenever dealing with this type of situation, CONTACT YOUR LAWYER!! They will be able to help you with this situation.

If you violate probation, your PO will send a notice to the courts and have documentation about the issue and violation. You should ALSO receive a copy of this documentation. Then the court will send out a notice of your court date for your sentencing. Sometimes your lawyer will receive a copy too!

Sometimes if it's a minor violation, the prosecutor will give you a sentence that works for you, like community service, if the judge agrees that would be your punishment or you could get a certain amount of time in jail.

If your probation officer violated you, then you will likely get arrested for the violation, held, and released into his custody so that he can have a chat with you.

Try HARDER to reach him.
