I want to take some castor oil to make me go in labor. Im 38 weeks and some days. I want to know what you think about me taking it this soon and if it works?

Don't bother! I drank 2 bottles of that crap and all I did was poop for 2 days. Totally not worth it!!! Don't waste your time in the washroom!

I wouldn't do it! I was late with my daughter and my midwife advised for me to take the castor oil. I did and all I did was go to the bathroom for the entire day and feel horrible! I ended up being induced 10 days after my due date. I had a 8 lb 10 oz baby girl. She was worth the wait! :) I know it is uncomfortable the last couple of weeks, but get yourself some rest while you can!

Tanking castor oil to induce labor is an old wive's tale. At best it can make you extremely sick, learn to deal with being pregnant until the baby is READY to be born. You CHOSE to have sex and this is one of the consequences that goes along with making that choice. A "normal" pregnancy is anywhere from 32 weeks to 42 weeks in length...life sucks sometimes...deal with it.

You're supposed to take 2 oz castor oil with orange juice. I would personally wait until you are a full 40 weeks to try this method, though.

I know people who have done that. One died, one had uncontrollable diahrrea, and the other had her infant almost die. All three did go into labor early.
What worked for me, both times, was to scrub my kitchen floor on my hands and knees. Had both my kids on their due dates, even went into labor at midnight of my due date with one of them!

***AVERAGE PREGNANCY WITH PRIOR BIRTHS ARE 40 WEEKS 3 DAYS! yOU CAN PASS THAT SAFELY BY 2 WEEKS!
You may be at term but your baby needs all the time they can get. Be patient...

Never do that--it can cause the baby to have a bowel movement in the womb and cause fetal distress.Please don't do it!!

The only thing it will do is give you diarrhea. Babies come when they are ready.
