with the current alleged big brother racism scandel doing the rounds in the media and the public allegations and counter allegations flying around at the moment do people really think the british are a racist nation of people?
would it be fair to say that every country has it own form of racism or social exclussion going on when you scratch the surface?
does india really have the right to cry rasism when they have their caste system which affects a sizable amount of their own population?
scratch the surface in south america, the middle east, asia, europe and africa and do you find any form of racism and division in those countrys?
are we all really hipocrites? or do we beleve to much of the hype whiped up by the media?

Yes it is everywhere. What annoys me is that Britain is portrayed as racist when it is probably the most tolerant nation on earth. We welcome - and bend over backward to help integrate - people from all backgrounds and cultures from across the globe. This nation is not intrinsically racist but we are annoyed when people - mainly Muslims - take our hospitality, education, health care and benefits and throw it right back in our faces by committing or threatening acts of mass murder and torrorism. Who wouldnt take umbridge at that? That is not racism.

In all the places within Europe where I have lived or worked I have found some form of racism.To this day people from what was the Western sector of Germany believe that their fellow Germans from the former Eastern sector are bone idle.
It is worth bearing in mind that no matter what a government may think it is not possible to force someone to like another person and if anything bringing in laws to try make it happen will only make things worse!!!!!

Every country has people who are racist, people who are bigotted, people who are sexist etc etc.

I think instead of crying about being the victim of racism etc why don't these Governments do something to stamp it out?

The ironic thing about Big Brother is Shilpa Setty has actually stated she doesn't believe she's a victim of racism just bullying tactics by some ignorant people. Even her mother thinks it's gone over the top and that if she really felt victimised she would be the first person to stand up to it.

The issue is that in today's society and the recent events have left people feeling vindicated for being racist. People are so on edge that they are becoming so politically correct that anything said to 1 person by a person of another race is deemed racist.

The media stir up as much as they can and in Big Brother's case the people coming out on top are the makers. Their viewing figures have gone up and up.

It's a shame that even with civilisation, people are still divided by matters so small as skin colour and cultural differences.

Yes it would be fair. As you pointed out in some countries it is more subtle, a way of life. In others it is much more blatant.
I do think in some situations the media is to blame.
A lot if it has to do with your up bringing and the morals and values instilled in you as a child.

Yes, I think it's true. Even in places like Iraq and Iran- where everyone is "brown" and pretty much looks the same racially, the Sunni's are fighting the Shities, and the Kurds are down trodden. In Africa there is fighting amonst different tribal groups and they are all black people but different ethnic or religious groups. So the racial stuff isn't always white against black or white against some other minority- it can be within the black community or whatever combination you can imagine.
