I tend to follow the philosphy which states

"if your having a good time - watch some b"£$&3D come along and spoil it!"

If everything really seems to be going well for a long period, you obviously have overlooked something. In high peaks of bi-polarity it may be so.

Short bursts of satisfaction are not hazardous if they do not last longer than half a day, I think (preferably on a Sunday morning when it would be harder to spoil all you money at once or encounter an accident).

Then back to critical observation to detect any hazard or threat....

Yep, and I'm tired of constantly looking over my shoulder or rechecking that everything is still under control. I'm just waiting for the bottom to drop out from under me again.

Oh yeah...if things are going well, I start waiting for the other shoe to drop. Knowing my luck, it'll be one of those killer pink stiletto numbers that finally gets me.
