Definitely AAC
- Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) is a standardized, lossy digital audio compression scheme. It is a method of compressing audio files, such as WAV, AIFF or imported from a CD. AAC achieves better quality sound than MP3 for the same compression level or smaller file sizes for the same quality audio. For example: A 192 kbps song compressed by MP3 will be the same quality as a 128 kbps AAC file, which will be smaller in overall size. It is most commonly used as the standard format for compressing audio CDs for Apple's iPod and iTunes. Apple also uses this as their format for selling music from the iTunes Store, although these files are restricted using Apple's own DRM, known as FairPlay

I'm sticking with mp3 files because i know what to do with them and they work well and are the most popular on the web. Apparently mp4 is better than mp3 though, but it cba to change all of my files to a different format, so i can't tell you if it's really better!

MP3. Although some of the others may claim to be technically superior, MP3 has the massive advantage of being universal i.e. you can play it on any machine. Useful if you ever want to try a different player in the future.
