probably means your are dilated to a 2 but if I were you I would keep my hands out of there. That is for the dr's and you don't want to accidentally break your water and possibly cause infection. When is your next appointment?

I wouldn't be doing this to often when I was in labor even the nurse wouldn't check me to regular with gloves on afraid I could set up an infection and it would be dangerous for the baby but I hope you are going into labor how exciting.
I am happy fathers wife

Not necessarily. I know this because, well over two weeks ago, my OB told me I was 2 cm dialated and 80% effaced, and, here I sit, still very pregnant indeed. At that time, my OB told me I could go into labor at anytime, or I could spend a couple of weeks in this state.
Good luck with everything!

I don't think you should be doing self checks but sounds like your around 2cm dilated and are probably pretty close to going into labor. But don't get to excited I was 3cm and stayed that way for 2 weeks and finally the doctor said I needed to go in and be induced.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck and hope you have a little boy very soon, that is if it is time for him......

OMG, how on earth do you check yourself like that??? I find that hard to believe. When I was pregnant with my first I could hardly reach around my belly to wipe myself after peeing, much less reach up the birth canal! You must have really long arms.
Also, unless your water is already broken, how could you feel the baby's head? I don't think I would be poking around down there. Let your doctor or midwife do the poking - or at least wear sterile gloves next time. Even if you do wash your hands and trim your nails, you could spread infection.

you don't need to scrub your hands before because its not sanitary down there in the first place. But I was able to do the same thing but I stayed pregnant for another week, I was finally induced so I don't think labor is right around the corner. Sorry : )

That is so cool! But, no it doesn't necissarily mean labor is close. You can be 1-3 cm dialated for several weeks before you go into labor.

It might be close, it might not. I went into labour a few days after I found out I was 3cm. Have no idea how long I was dialated that much though. Some women do go into labour quickly, others walk around weeks dialated!

Yeah, sounds like 2 cm dilated. That is cool. I always wondered what that felt like when the doctor says that they can feel the babys head. Ive never tried it before.

It might mean labor is near, or it might just mean that you are 1-2 cm dialated. I would call the doctor next time instead of checking yourself.
