First of all you have to find a doctor who accepts medicaid and who is taking new medicaid patients. Not all do and not all take on new patients. You can get a list of medicaid providers in your area from your medicaid office, however you will have to call and find out if they are taking new patients. Most will take your number with proper identification (state driver's license/ID card/social security card) some won't. It is up to the provider.

you will have to get a list of medicaid accepting providers in your area. Call them and ask if they are accepting new patients. They will almost always take your medicaid number without the card if you are a new member. They can check your eligibility with your number throught the medicaid system. I hate to say it but you get what you pay for when it comes to the quality of service you will receive on medicaid.

In my state (utah) you have up to 3 months to get the card to the doctor. It is preferred that they receive it within 30 days, but you can get your medicaid number from your case worker. Just let the doctor's office know that you are waiting for your card and will bring it in as soon as you have it. Also, the doctor's office should have a medicaid hotline they can call to verify your medicaid eligibility. Hope this helps.

Most doctors will just take the number and accept medicaid. Call some clinics and find one you will like.

A choice few will accept medicaid. Call around and check that out. They will take just your number and they would have taken you without a number if you would have just told them you have applied.

You can call your medicaid office and ask for a list of local providers or call your OB/GYN of choice and ask if they take it. They should be able to look up your info without a card. Best of luck
