It will never end as long as you have more than one race within any other race's society then you will always have racism. I actually answered this in another thread at this particular site (first link), that it's discrete and politically correct when done.
No matter how much everyone wants to lie to themselves about racism and racial truths deep in their own hearts they don't believe in equality because to believe in equality is the greatest self-deception of all, factually some races have accomplished more than others (I'm biracial White/Oriental, one of the hardest truths I had to accept is that my mom's people did not live up to the level of my father's people) so if you make a claim of equality then you are diminishing the accomplishment of one race to elevate another. If you state all races should have equal opportunity this sounds more fair but the reality is that some races are geared better for certain accomplishments than others (this is why you don't see too many Oriental professional athletes represent in pro-sports, from the stat on my second link the US total population "U.S. 300,994,536" rep by Asians "11,859,446" which is slightly less than 4% but look at the NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB and you won't see a slightly less than 4% rep, it will be much lower because they don't have the physical presence to represent equally).
Sad fact is that sometimes racism is justified whether we want to admit the truth or not. Our genes were shaped in certain parts of the world where we were "baked" so to speak and with it comes certain inherit traits. There are many who will scream about how equal everyone is about everything but you can't find a stat where the population demographics in United States match exactly to what it's compared too, not school, prison, housing, jobs, income, etc if we were all equal then these stats would mirror the compared event (ie population percentage would match the event percentage exactly). The people who speak otherwise, visit the US census bureau, look at the numbers, and post a rebuttal with source to prove this wrong but this won't happen because reality and life aren't fair and won't mirror.

Racism is not over. And I mean this seriously. for one we still have KKK, White supremecy, skinheads, Neo- Nazi's, and aryan brothers. As long as they exist we will always be fighting against racism. I for one would like to think that it was over. but me being at age 31 has had my experiences. Furthermore, older people that still lives from the Jim Crowe days of discrimination are still living, and these same people are teaching thier children to hate or be bigots over Blacks, Latino's , and Jew's. I'm from chicago and just a few years ago there was a rally by the KKK in Cicero, IL and it was primarly against Mexicans because it is a Mexican community now. Now what I can say is that racism is dying but it 's at a slow rate. We got worser things to worry about than this ignorant crap. But you can't change the mind of a fool, you can only overcome him and be better. Racism will end when we stop stereotyping eachother for one, and it will end when parents of all races start teaching their children that everyone are the same in whatever they do, and we are all equal. And also, to all that apply, people should except other people that move into their communities that we can all live in a diverse community no matter where you are. In other words we should stop this thing where " Oh I like to have only friends of my race because others make me feel so uncomfortable attitude." Venture out, discover, see for yourself what other people are like personality wise. We can all put an end to this.

It is not over, nor will it end. EVER.
UNLESS, each race has one country of it's own that no other race can go to, then the racists will all go to their separate countries, and leave the rest of the world a nice mixed place where it does not matter what race you are, they can stay there by themselves, while the rest of the world is free to travel the rest of the mixed world.
I honestly think it is cruel to force racists to live in a mixed place. Not only cruel to them, BUT TO US TOO!

You can bet your bottom dollar it won't be over for a LONG time. It's human nature to be prejudiced against people who are different from you - and as it's oh so hard for most people to THINK and overcome their prejudices, and so much easier just to go along with the crowd and hate everyone - then no, racism won't be over in the forseeable future. Just take a look at this (HIGHLY offensive) 'question' http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ApQMK3FtT3bMRY2IqQSCcV7b7BR.?qid=20070118124712AA6gWHF

> Is it really over?
No.
> if not, when will it end?
It will end when people of the various groups do nothing to distinguish themselves, or that can be stereotyped or caricatured. Not sure that's ever going to happen. Check these stereotypes out:
White people live in trailer parks.
Asians are smarter and better at math.
Prisons are disproportionately Black.

it will never end. each racial group (caucasian, mongoloid, *******) and each of THEIR ethnic groups (ie, french, cambodian, nigerian) will always hav deep personal beliefs about who they r & how they feel & relate 2 different people. it seems 2 b something instilled in our subconciousness. maybe it has something 2 do w survival. I think everyone is at least a little bit racist, tho not always at th same group. If Martians landed on earth & said, "We hav 2 remove one of your groups or races" then the whites will say,"Not us". So would th blacks & so would th orientals. It's a mad mad mad mad world. Proud & busy American European.

As long as there are differences, there will always be animosity. Skin color, weight, age, education, income, religion, sex, nationality, disability, etc. etc. which is unfortunate because nobody is exactly the same, and if everyone were the same then it would be one boring *** planet to live on.

no it aint ended
until people can stop fearing something different and learn to understand it, it will never be over, it is so much easier to hate something!!!
also its the media and the government that is racist in my opinion. all they do is show us what thwey want us to think of each race, they want us to think whites are racist. so what do they do, they show black racial attacks and not the other way around. they wanna make it seem like blacks and hispanics are all bad, so what do they do they show us only the negative. in consequence we start to believe what we see!!!
