good question..its not always easy to tell. some rabbits (like my "old lady" who doesnt live here right now) will purr if you pet them. then you can really tell that theyre happy.
some rabbits dont like to run indoors..my rabbit mom's mate, had em over one time and he didnt move around much inside but when we took them out to the yard he chased her. i dunno why he is this way..i guess he felt he didnt have enough room to run or something. and she runs more too out there.
if you can, try taking the bunny outside..rabbits run more outside because thats their natural habitat.
if not put em on the floor and leave em alone for a while..eventually the rabbit should hop.
I notice my rabbit mom is pretty lazy. she explores some inside if i let her but hops slowly. sometimes when i played with her (dont play with her much anymore) she would lick me on the arm and there were these rare moments when shed lick me on the face. even the little babiesll lick me at times. so your rabbit may do that to you sometime...
obviously if the rabbit wants to sit on you..seems pretty affectionate. must be content sleeping on you. you have nothing to worry about, your rabbit should like you at least a little. this is what rabbits do most of the time, eat and sleep.
oh and another thing all my rabbits hop more when i get em out at night.
rabbits are nocturnal so thats pretty much all they do in the daytime.

The is no need to worry. Many rabbits live out their lives as docile creatures, especially the larger breeds. If you are worried about the affections of your little bunji try gently placing you hand underneath his (or her) nose. If he is happy, he will lower his head in submission. He may also lick you if very affectionate. And if not, just give him time; let the rabbit hear your voice when he sits on you but also when he is in his cage so he can associate your voice with you. A smooth, calming voice will help to associate you as fun fun pet owner.

Well what else is the rabbit suppose to do? Thats what animals do they eat and sleep. Its not like you can really take them out for walks or hops hehehe. I'm sure the rabbit is fine. Try playing with him around the house but I think thats pretty much what pet rabbits are for: to look cute and be cuddly.

I think that you are very lucky to have such a loving bunny. I'm unfortunate in that I recently lost the most loving cuddly Rabbit in the world. She loved to cuddle up with me and we'd even fall asleep on the sofa together. she Followed me around the house and even sat on my feet whilst I stood at the coker making dinner. She loved to be around her "mum & dad" and showed us how much by licking us constantly. She would even greet us with a nudge of her nose. She was quite possibly the laziest rabbit possible. Just treasure the time you rabbit wants to spend with you. By comparison we still have another rabbit who isn't particularly interested in her people and you're lucky to get a 5 minute cuddle.

i just got a pet rabbit in june. they're much more socially complicated than cats and dogs!! some are very timid and take a long time to be affectionate. i know it took my bunny about 3 months to actually come to me and ask to be petted. if you've just moved this new rabbit in he/she could still be afraid. have you taken it to the vet? they need regular, yearly checkups. although they are costly (about 60) they're necesarry. anyhow, when a rabbit loves you it becomes obvious. one of the biggest signs is when he or she runs circles around your feet. =) its so cute too! nipping (not biting) is also a good sign. they're not usually lap animals, so don't be distressed if it never wants to cuddle. i know my rabbit would rather lay spread out on his tummy next to me. they're not all that active, but he/she should at least get up and run around every couple of hours. if another week of lethargy goes by, get it checked out. good luck! =)

Rabbits are sweet but dumb. They don't "do stuff" like a cat or dog. A rabbit that sits around and eats and sleeps sounds kind of nice. Does your bunny have free time to hop around the house? You could take it outside on a leash. Ours likes to hop around and nibble plants and dig outside, including digging in the sandbox! But keep him on a leash (made for bunnies) outside. (if your bunny doesn't bite you, he likes you! And bunnys do become attached to their owners.)
